Vladimir Ovtcharov

Artist

Vladimir was born in 1963 in Sofia, Bulgaria where he graduated with a major in fine art
and began work as a freelance artist.

1996 Vladimir moves to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Education:

1977-1982 The Secondary Artistic School of Applied Arts-Sofia,Bulgaria

 Higher Institute if Fine Arts “Nickolay Pavlovitch”(National Academy of
Fine Arts)

Experience:

1985-present Traditional Orthodox Icons and Sacred Arts,

 Modern & Abstract Art, Miniatures, Book Illustrations,

 (Drawings, watercolors, tempera, oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media)

 Fine Silver Jewelry and Enamel

1990-1993 Long-term collaboration and contributions to Hemus Gallery, Sofia,
Bulgaria, Bulgaria’s largest international retailer/wholesaler of fine arts.

Hemus Gallery has several exhibition halls in Bulgaria, as wella s
organizes and participates in art shows world-wide.

1990-1993 Long-term collaboration with Unicat Gallery,Sofia, Bulgaria. This art
gallery is an international art dealer showing collection in Germany,
Austria, Holland and Poland.

1993-1996 Permanent participation in the exhibitions organized by and held in The
Crypt of the Patriarchal Cathedral Memorial-Church “St.Alexander Nevski”.
The Crypt is a division of the Bulgarian National Gallery of Tine Arts and
associated with the National History Museum. The Crypt is dedicated to
Christian Orthodox arts being the most prestigious national icon gallery and
center for religious visual arts.

 Fine Art Gallerist:

1990-1993 Founded and operated Adamant K Finer Arts & Crafts Gallery in Sofia.
Located at the lobby level of Novotel Europa (one of the central hotels in
Sofia, ranking the top 5 in the country), the gallery offered a collection of
traditional Bulgarian arts and crafts, including icon paintings, copper and iron
works, jewelry as well as modern art: paintings, prints, textile and ceramics.

Work by Daniela and Vladimir Ovtcharov were presented as part of an
exclusive collection of work contemporary Bulgarian artists and
craftsmen.

2002-2003 Founded and operated Tangra Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Exclusively represented works by Daniela and Vladimir Ovtcharov.
